Our story

Five generations, one promise.

The Najjum family founded Roanoke Fruit and Produce in 1910, choosing the produce trade as their livelihood. Everything since has come down to the same thing: relationships with good people and the kitchens they run across the Roanoke Valley.

Today the fifth generation is in the business, and the fundamentals haven't moved: buy quality, buy local when the season allows, deliver on time, and answer the phone when a customer calls.

What hasn't changed

The part that isn't about produce.

We buy local

We stock locally grown product whenever the season allows, alongside our other suppliers, and we flag it on your order guide so you know what's local.

We know our customers

A lot of our accounts have been with us for decades. Our office staff know the orders and the standing preferences, not just the account numbers.

We run our own trucks

Refrigerated delivery six days a week across Southwest Virginia, with same-day service in Roanoke. Our name is on the truck.

We stand behind it

If something isn't right when it comes off the truck, we make it right. That's the whole reason a family name stays on the building.

Where we are

Roanoke, and the region around it.

Our warehouse and offices are at 1119 4th Street SE in Roanoke, and that's where every order is picked and loaded. From there we run our own refrigerated trucks six days a week, serving the Roanoke Valley and the greater Southwest Virginia region, with same-day service in Roanoke itself.

Fresh is best.

It's the standard every order gets held to, and the reason customers keep calling back.
